When I joined the 2021 SBSM course, I hoped to have a recovery that I could write about in a testimonial. I never guessed I’d submit one anonymously.
Through SBSM I learned that decades of wearing down my nervous system set me up for an autoimmune disease and descent into more immune system dysfunctions. Shortly after the program started I noticed emerging signs of recovery, like disappearing anxiety attacks, improved blood sugar stabilization and such. Until recently improvements were the kind I could openly celebrate. I recently realized a change both exciting and embarrassing that I never expected.
As a young child I remember my mom complaining about “acid bumps” which she said were caused by eating too many acid foods. She didn’t really know how she got them except that too many oranges, nuts and chocolate would cause blisters on her right butt cheek. When I went through a series of traumas in my 50’s I started getting them on the left butt cheek. My doctors never gave a diagnosis, until I did some research and asked point blank “is this herpes?” Well, yes ~ genital herpes, which I likely contracted through the birth canal. I believe my immune system was able to hold off attacks until accumulated trauma let the virus go wild.
For 10 years I worked at controlling it with lysine and monitoring intake of high arginine foods. With so many favorite foods I inevitably would slip and “bam” the painful blisters. They would also appear during times of heavy emotional stress or the physical contact stress of riding my horse. During the past 10 years, I had so many traumas and stresses that my poor bum was spotted with pink scars from all the blisters.
I started noticing slowly during SBSM that when I faltered on my regimen, I wasn’t getting blisters. Little by little I became more lax and eventually stopped lysine supplementation. I also began eating arginine foods more freely. Now 6 months later, without a regimen, all of the pink spots are healed. I am again enjoying eating nuts, oranges and chocolate! I want to tell everyone about this work and hope it will help others suffering from oral and genital herpes.
I know if my immune system is winning the battle with this virus, it’s also healing my autoimmune issues!
Thank you so very much for your work, for educating us all on trauma and helping us to become our own medicine. It is the hope for all the planet!
Sincerely,
Anonymous
