LAB 1: Reveling in Your Resources

Tuesday, July 1st – Sunday, July 6th

Welcome to Lab 1 and Smart Body Smart Mind (SBSM) School.

I’m so glad you are here!

The goal of SBSM will be to deepen the sense of safety in your body, de-stress and relax with more refined and specific Inner Body Awareness Exercises.

To start off the course, you’ll learn a 4-Step Self-Reflection Process that will be geared towards looking “inwards” and seeing what is there – you’ll be priming your inner awareness muscles for Labs 2 and 3.

To complete this week:

  • Watch the training video “Reveling in Your Resources”

  • Complete Exercise 1, 2 and 3.

  • Introduce yourself on our Secret Facebook Forum.

3 NEW Exercises:

Complete the lesson on ‘Working with the Joints’ twice, maybe 3-5 days apart (everyone will be slightly different, so use your gut instinct), before doing ‘Working with the Diaphragms,’ and so on. Of course you can repeat the lesson more than twice, but that is the minimum.

If you finish within 3 weeks, then repeat the whole process.

3D ANATOMY TUTORIAL:

Basic Parts of the Brain

This Anatomy Zone video is more detail than you need to know, but the first few minutes gives you a good look at the brainstem and its location. Of course, feel free to watch the entire video and learn a little more!

SUGGESTIONS FOR THE FOLLOWING AUDIO EXERCISES:

Below you’ll find your 2 new audio exercises for Lab 3b. Be sure to complete the Preparatory Brainstem Lesson before diving into the Brainstem Drop Lesson.

I’d recommend completing these lessons twice per week. Both the prep lesson and the drop lesson.

LAB 3c: The Gut-Brain

This final lesson is pretty self-explanatory.

I suggest the following steps:

1) Watch the first Anatomy Zone video that gives a basic overview of the digestive system. It is mainly for you to have a view into the actual look of this system. I’ve included all the videos that they’ve created on this area. There are 4 in total and it isn’t necessary to watch all of them. However, if you feel like you understand more of this system AFTER you’ve completed the audio, then by all means, go for it.

2) Take a look at the drawing I’ve included on the digestive system and gut. Again, use this to familiarize yourself with the location of all your organs.

3) The more artistic drawing that I’ve included is a representation of your vagus nerve pathways. As you see, there are A LOT of nerves in and around the gut. Huge branches. The vagus nerve is also called “The Wandering Nerve” as it literally wanders EVERYWHERE.

4) Do the audio lesson!

5) Please send me an email, or post a comment on the Facebook forum to let me know how it went and to compare and contrast your notes with others.

ENJOY!
