Healing Trauma Myths Busted! Experientally.

“Close your eyes and center yourself.”

“Take a deep cleansing breath.”

“Ground into the Earth.”

All these statements are common in the mind-body and somatic trauma healing worlds and while they seem harmless and even nice in concept, such directives can backfire when one is living with a lot of stored up survival stress (aka: trapped trauma).

This NEW Drop-In Class will focus on working with the eyes, breath, and body (with a focus on the legs) so one can experience different ways to connect to ourselves and the environment, so we can move towards greater capacity.

While this class is not about getting a trauma release per se, or to move a shaking or emotional response out, please know that these releases, shakes, emotions, and even memories, can move up and through while doing these basic explorations.

From my experience, when one practices in a graduated, slow, and polyvagal-informed way —which is how I teach—our system not only lets out what it is ready for, it feels relief, and then that deep breath comes in naturally!

This will be suitable for beginners who are keen to learn and experience themselves in a deeper biological way. Advanced students are welcome for added practice and review of the basics.
