Late last week, I was inspired to record a short video based on a YouTube comment I read:

‘It’s hard to believe that the human biology requires such an intricate and deep level of complexity, for something that is a basic biological function. A regulation NS (nervous system) should not be rocket science. This level of complexity and work feels counterintuitive, because it’s actually stressful, especially when you are already ill.”

If the person who wrote this to me is reading this, a thousand thank yous for this comment.

These are the sorts of comments that make me think, a lot, and so much so that I’ve been carrying it around on a piece of loose-leaf paper from my kitchen table to my desk (and back to my kitchen table) for months now.

I address this comment in the second part of this week’s video

* * *

And the first part of the video is – yet again – a reminder about the dramatic shifts I’ve done to my online offerings over the last few months, a share about what I’ll be up to September through December (hint: teaching our SPT mentees!), plus an announcement about a future “mini-pod” for those who might be interested in doing some intensive group work (please watch the full video for the invitation!).

Finally, in a week’s time, I’ll be sharing a first ever: a two hour and fifteen minute conversation with a Somatic Experiencing colleague of mine, Will Rezin.

This long form video might be the first of its kind, mainly because we don’t hold back and express “the quiet part out loud,” plus – cue this as a corporate saying – “open the kimono,” so to speak, around the current reality of the somatic trauma training fields, and then some.

Be sure to head over and take twenty minutes to watch this week’s video.

PS Bodies always win < an important reminder!
