I wish stories of early trauma and longstanding abuse, like what Hosannah shares in my most recent interview release, were not common, but alas, here we are, and sadly, they are all too common.
I originally heard of her story when she submitted a self-filmed testimonial for my team and I. Then she submitted another one.
The beauty of these two videos is that you see the shifts in her regulation (I’ve included these links in the PPS below!).
Today I’m sharing a long form interview I did with her that was recorded a couple of weeks ago, and you’ll be happy to know that since her second self-filmed update, her life (and regulation) continues to improve!
I also want to add this…
What’s exceptional to me about this story is that she has only ever done somatic trauma healing work via my two online courses (21 Day Nervous System Tune-Up and SmartBody SmartMind™️), and we get into this in our talk.
This is impressive to me because a lot of our current members and alumni start my programs when they’ve tried a gazillion other things.
Hosannah was different: she tried to white knuckle it all on her own via self-study and reading books (and more books), but eventually she knew her system needed some outside support, and I am so glad she found me and my work.
I get many messages from people saying that it’s impossible to do somatic trauma healing via an online course when one has suffered immense abuse and is living with complex PTSD, and while that might be true for some, I’ve witnessed a lot of people do really well with a self-paced program that isn’t trying to make a person heal “faster” or get more “releases.”
As you’ll hear in our talk, the releases got bigger and more intense only when her body was ready (not because she was trying to heal in a certain period of time).
So again, this is why I wanted to share Hosannah’s story: she is one of the many who have been a rockstar scholar of their nervous system physiology.
All in all, this story is about triumph and deep healing at the nervous system and somatic levels, so I hope you watch in full.
Thank you Hosannah for sharing so openly and being a guiding light for others! 🙏✨
PS What’s shared in our talk is the dark stuff of humanity (which has been coming more into the open very recently), and when we listen to this dark stuff, it can, and often will, bring up our own dark stuff. This is especially true if we are new to this level of healing work, or have maybe had to bypass and shutdown a lot of the stored pain and hurt we’ve endured. Please know there’s zero shame if we get activated, or maybe feel a strong repulsion, when listening to stories like these – this simply shows we have our own work to do!
PPS If you have a hunch you might need to slowly take in her story (“titrate” is what we call this) you can check out this shorter video she filmed a while back, and this second one too.
