Did you know that I do monthly special topic lectures?
I wanted to share the one I did earlier this month because it is by far one of the most popular topics, and for good reason!
The topic was all things adrenal fatigue and burnout.
I will admit, I LOVE these long-form chats: part lecture, part Q&A.
It is always a fun challenge to teach and blend together ALL the topics around survival stress physiology (those fight, flight, freeze responses), trauma, the nervous system, cultural conditioning, stored memories, your questions, and much more, into one educational video (see my PS below for all the topics covered).
A quick note on adrenal fatigue:
I think this is such a hot topic because if one has a chronic illness such as fibromyalgia or an autoimmune disease like rheumatoid arthritis, their adrenals will most likely have been put through the wringer (aka: constant chronic stress) leading up to the expression of their illness.
Depression, for example, which is often thought of as a mental illness, but in actuality, as we are seeing more and more, is rooted in suppressed fight and flight energy trapped in the body’s physiology. The suppressed, ‘depressed’ life force takes A LOT of energy to hold down and this is one way in which the system can literally burn out.
Have a watch…
