Recently, there’s been a lot of hype around whose theory is valid (or not) in the somatic trauma healing fields (also once known as: the new traumatology).
I’ve been speaking a lot over the years about how this work is still so new, one might say embryonic at best, which means that it is inevitable that there’ll be some “spars and fights,” and of course healthy debate amongst the professionals.
Also, the consumers of these professions and practices who (tend to) put these professionals (myself included) up on high pedestals, will no doubt start to also question and wonder the same thing, which brings me to today’s new video!
I caught this GREAT question on a recent YouTube video, and I had to reply and help to ease this person’s understandable confusion.
My answer was originally via an Instagram live, so we polished it up and put it on YouTube just for you. Here’s the question:

If you’re new here, or heck, even if you’re a veteran of this work and want to see how your answer might compare to mine, check out the video:
Time-Sensitive Announcement
Since I’m sharing comments from our viewers and students, I wanted to take this opportunity to showcase the success of one of our elder SmartBody SmartMind™️(SBSM) members, Bonnie. I caught this the other day:

What is unique about SBSM is that we’re not just teaching one method or one theory:
– we are combining three powerful approaches
– we offer guidance on how to integrate the practices into real life
– we suggest (strongly) that you pace yourself and stay in your real window of tolerance (there is not a time limit to get it done or complete it)
– we want you to re-learn how to be in your body and environment, so you create new patterns that stick in your nervous system
– and this all happens with professional support while we are in the live session!
True story: I created SBSM because it was clear to me back in 2012, when I was in full swing with my private practice, that people needed way more than just one private session a week with me for years on end.
Over the years, my students, myself, and my team have all witnessed deep healing that sticks when one commits to the SBSM curriculum.
There is no other online program like it, and if you have yet to give it a try, then I sincerely hope you consider joining the next live session, as this might be the one time we open up registration in its current form.
If you have ANY questions right now that you’d love answered, be sure to reply to this email and my team will get back to you.
To your nervous system health,
Irene & Team Lyon
PS TOMORROW, Tuesday, February 24, for one week only, I’ll be opening up SBSM to new members, which means now’s the time to get in any questions you might have around beginning this curriculum in the coming week. We will close registration at the end of the day, Pacific Time, Tuesday, March 3. Learn more about this powerful online curriculum here.
