A couple months ago, I accidentally slammed my hand in a door while BBQing on our balcony.
And it hurt. Bad.
Rather than rushing along and continuing to cook, I stopped. I sat on the couch. And I FELT THE PAIN.
I didn’t ignore it. Or pretend it didn’t happen. I didn’t conclude that the universe hates me or that Mercury must be in retrograde.
I felt it. Fully. Somatically.
Why is this so darn important? And how might this same situation unfold for a person with less nervous system regulation onboard?
That’s what I’ll cover in this week’s vlog: “What it looks like to process survival stress (aka: trauma) when you are regulated.”
