The number of men entering this world of nervous system education and healing is growing.

I know this because, as the years progress, I have seen more and more guys attending our training and Q&A calls each time that SmartBody SmartMind (aka: SBSM)* runs live.

Over and over, I hear the SBSM men talk about how they wish more men knew about this work, because it has helped them so much (and they see their fellow dudes suffering a lot!).

And yet we still find it tends to be mainly the women who share their success stories.

But slowly, we are changing this…

Last year, we hosted our first ever men’s alumni panel ahead of the 15th live round of SBSM.

We got so much positive feedback from the live event itself as well as the recording shared on YouTube that we were inspired to re-share some of the key moments from that long-form chat.

This chat was facilitated by my husband and colleague, Seth, who as an SE practitioner himself, leads many of the general and special topic Q&A calls during each round of SBSM.

I’m proud to share this new compilation video that brings together some of the best moments from the full 1 hr 20 min-long conversation Seth had with just a few of our amazing SBSM men:

In under 15 minutes, this video covers an incredibly wide range of topics, from:

  • healing toxic shame and head injuries with Mitch, to…
  • trauma therapy gone wrong and healthy anger with Arnie, to…
  • burnout and learning how to listen to your body with Joe, to…
  • recognising what is happening in your body with Job, to…
  • generational trauma and uncovering frozen life force with Harvey, to…
  • upholding boundaries and discovering playfulness with David, to…
  • the power of understanding how your physiology works with Sean, to…
  • coming out of functional freeze and healing insomnia with Leendert, to…
  • overcoming triggers and releasing stuck trauma with Kris, to…
  • healing depression and learning how to follow your impulses with David, to…
  • working with childhood shock trauma and finally feeling understood with Ian.

May it open the door to even more conversations on healing trauma, from a male perspective.

But more importantly, may it open the door to even more men doing this very important work.

PS *For those who may be new here, SBSM is my 12-week curriculum that teaches you how to rewire and restore regulation to your nervous system. SBSM members have year-round, lifetime access to the teaching & tools within the program, but we open registration to new members & run the full curriculum live (with training and Q&A calls plus text-based practitioner support), typically 1-2 times/year. And, at the time of publishing this blog, our next registration is just around the corner on Tuesday, Sep 16! 🙂
