I’m going to bet there’s at least a handful of folks here who have avoided starting the practical journey of healing their nervous system because sometime in the past they were told to let bygones be bygones, or that their suffering was not severe enough and that “other” people have it worse, or maybe it might be this common one: that one is terrified of what will come up and out if they start to unpack the skeletons in the closet.
Sound familiar?
When we look at the old school (read: outdated) models of healing trauma that comes with massive explosions of emotions, cathartic outbursts, and flashbacks that re-traumatize a person … well, it makes sense that one would avoid experiences like these as if it were the plague, but trust me when I say that it does NOT have to be this way.
This short video I’m sharing with you today is from a Q&A live stream I did earlier this year, and it gets to the core of this understandable worry.
It also speaks about how one does not have to travel this old school route to heal trauma.
