Ayahuasca and other plant medicines are getting a lot of attention these days. Some major names in the fields of health and healing are endorsing their therapeutic potential.
And to be honest, it scares the hell out of me.
Because I’m hearing more and more horror stories like this one from my student, Juan Pablo.
Don’t get me wrong. These medicines are powerful. And yes, they can be beneficial for some.
And like Juan Pablo so wisely points out in our chat, not everyone is ready to unravel their entire trauma history all at once!
Engaging with these medicines without solid nervous system education, regulation, and capacity can lead to dire (and sometimes fatal) consequences.
So before you embark on your own ayahuasca experience, any form of plant medicine, and heck, even a retreat setting that is promising to ‘heal all your traumas in one go,’ please give this interview a watch.
