Many people ask me if meditation, mindfulness, yoga, and other mind-body practices will help them heal.

This is a loaded question that’s difficult to answer in a few words. So today I’m re-sharing an important long-form interview with my colleague, mentor, and friend Chris Dierkes.

“Meditation & Mindfulness 101 || Interview w/ Chris Dierkes”

He’s a spiritual practitioner and searcher who’s seen the light and the dark side of these mind-body practices and why it’s so important for folks to proceed with caution.

Here’s what we’ll cover:

  • Why we can’t meditate ourselves out of our humanity (and why trying to do so is a recipe for disaster).
  • The original purpose of meditation and the dangers of the commercialization of these practices.
  • A few red flags that your spiritual practice isn’t serving your health or helping you grow resilience.
  • Why building foundations is a crucial first step before attempting any of these mindfulness-based practices.

Whether you’re an avid meditator, have been told you should start meditating but can’t seem to sit still for more than five minutes, or are thinking about starting a meditation practice for the first time, please listen to this important conversation
